Edge Publisher build 7.7.0.4

We are please to announce, that Edge Publsher build 7.7.0.4 has been released. In this version, a new option has been added to the Unite Assembly Activity.

  • It is now possible run the Unite Assembly directly on Pwd documents
  • In order for this to work, the Unite Activity must be run in the “Converted” mode.
  • Furthermode, regardless of the setting under “Occurrences/Show”, Pwd files are always converted “As Saved”, as the other settings only are relevant for assemblies.

Edge Publisher build 7.7.0.2

We are please to announce, that Edge Publsher build 7.7.0.2 has been released. In this version two new features have been added:

  • A file preview is now displayed upon file selection.
  • A new “Read Document” command has been added. It is located under the Application Button and in the Quick Access bar. This commad will open the Solid Edge file currently open in Solid Edge (if any).Under the Edge Publisher Setup / Read Document Category, you can choose whether the document should be closed in Solid Edge when read into Edge Publisher. This is not on by default.

    If there are unsaved changes in the S0lid Edge file, you will be asked if the file should be saved.

Edge Publisher build 7.6.0.34

We have uploaded a new build (7.6.0.34) that solves a flat pattern orientation problem. You must run Solid Edge ST4 MP5 or higher for this fix to work, as it dependes on new functionality implemented in the Solid Edge API.

This build also solves various bugs in the Update Activity,

Edge Publisher and ANSI sheet sizes

Edge Publisher V7.6 Released

We are please to announce that Edge Publisher V7.6 has been released.

A new plugin/licensing scheme has been introduced and a Free version of Edge Publisher is also avaiable. The free version includes the Print Drafting activity and you can request a license under Downloads

A We have also added a brand new “Pdf Builder Activity”. Using this activity, you can merge existing pdf files with solid edge exported pdf files into a single document, also including bookmarks (model structure or list) and properties.  More info on the will follow – Stay tuned…

Please read the release notes before upgrading as V7.6 uses a new folder for storing application data.

Preparing Solid Edge for Unite Assembly

When using the new “Converted” mode in the Unite Assembly Activity, it is important that you setup the Solid Edge “Save As” – options as shown below. Omitting this, will probably cause Unite Assembly to generate incorrect results.

Unite Assembly supports the Parasolid and Jt formats. Jt is slightly slower than Parasolid, but it provides the option of saving file Properties to the converted file.

Edge Publisher 7.5 Released
